I am single but not searching. My mother is working on that. She is going to get me a husband from the village. I don’t know how the search is going for her though. I think Nigerian men are fine, we have the best crop of men in Nigeria. My major priority is to be focused on necessary things. I don’t see relationships as unnecessary but I see s*x as unnecessary. I am not a married woman, it is not something I would wake up in the morning and say I would indulge in it. It was created for married people. It is seen as a part of relationships by this generation because people are influenced by what they see on television and read in magazines. The youths are getting very enlightened.

Funke Akindele Again: A Wish Hilarious Comedy Released On DVD

Barely seven weeks from the date of the premiere and Cinema release, A wish, a hilarious comedy featuring Award winning actress Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jennifer, Bishop Imeh Umoh, Patience Ozokwo, Afeez Oyetoro also known as Dauda, Hellen Paul (Tatafo) and other artistes, has been released on DVD today 21st of January 2013.
The comedy flick from the stable of Diamond Groove Pictures was released early on DVD so as to sustain viewers’ attention on the movie from the big screen to the small screen.
A Wish produced by award winning actor cum producer Elvis Chucks was a success at the cinema between December 2012 and January 2013.The movie centres on a single mother who was unfortunate to acquire education but is bent on giving her only child education against all odds.
The producer and director of the comedy ‘A Wish’ Elvis Chucks had starred in the popular TV drama series Super story where he played the role of a village headmaster. The actor cum producer has also featured in several Nollywood movies. Elvis Chucks produced the True Citizen that featured Uti Nwachukwu (BBA all Stars Winner), Alex Usifo, Brian Okwara, (Ex Mr. Nigeria), Clareth Onukogu, (Miss Nigeria U.S.A) and others. He recently bagged an award for his last movie True Citizens, at the Nigerian Integrity Film Award.
The movie was premiered on the 1st of December 2012 and released at the cinema on the 7th of December 2012.
Synopsis: A single mother who is a petty trader with no opportunity of education had one wish; to see her child go to school and explore the opportunities she never had but fate struck and she had to struggle to achieve her dreams against all odds. Finding out she has a few years to live after being diagnosed of cancer.

Man Plucks Out Wife’s Eye With Broomstick


eyeA 28-year-old man has been brought before the court here for gouging out his wife’s eye with a broomstick during a domestic dispute while accusing her of infidelity.
The accused, Leonard Kadowonda, a Zimbabwean teacher was sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment wholly suspended for five years after the complainant filed an affidavit to withdraw the case against him.
The court heard that on June 7 last year the complainant, Babra Samkange (21), was walking home from a nearby primary school in the company of her male friend when her husband spotted her. On arriving home, she was confronted by the husband.
Kadowonda accused her of infidelity and slapped her on the face before being restrained by his mother. The court further heard that the following morning, the wife woke up and started preparing their child for school when Kadowonda confronted her again and demanded her cellphone.
It was averred she told him she did not know where the phone was. This did not go down well with Kadowonda who picked up a broomstick which he threw in her direction and pierced her on the right eye.
She bled profusely and screamed for help and was rushed to a hospital where the damaged eye was removed.
